Marissa Drago’s start in the food industry actually came while on vacation, when she walked into Ina Garten’s Barefoot Contessa market in East Hampton and asked for a job.

Fifteen years later, she’s worked for several prominent New York City food companies, specializing in catering, and has begun raising a family in Mattituck.

Now she’s taking her talents closer to home by opening Main Road Biscuit Co., an upcoming breakfast and lunch spot at the former location of  Jamesport Country Kitchen.  (more…)

Country Corner Cafe, a luncheonette and ice cream parlor located on Main Road in Southold, is once again on the market.

Owner Kelly Huntstein said she is selling the nearly 20-year old restaurant to spend more time with her family.

When asked if people had been inquiring about the eatery, her reply was, ” I only get like 25 questions a day.” (more…)

Today, Tuesday Sept. 29, is National Coffee Day and that means a few deals and freebies across the North Fork.

Americans love their coffee and consume 400 million cups of it per day, according to the National Coffee Association and the Specialty Coffee Association of America. That makes us the leading consumer of coffee in the world. (more…)

They’ll be taking a shuttered plumbing supply store and turning into something a bit more, shall we say, romantic.

Stephanie Coleman and Jennilee Morris, the partners behind the Grace & Grit catering company founded in 2012, have inked a deal to lease the storefront that last housed the Southold Plumbing & Heating company at 55750 Main Road, which closed last year. (more…)
