Now in its 10th year, the self-guided tour, which is the North Fork Reform Synagogue’s only fundraiser, offers a behind-the-scenes look at small-scale vegetable growing, winemaking and raising livestock on the East End.

It also gives participants a chance to get to know our local farmers and sample some of their scrumptious products. (more…)

The Nice Buns Food Truck will be at Macari Wines in October.

Love food trucks? Can’t decide which one to follow?

Macari Vineyards, the family-owned winery, plans to offer a rotating series of food trucks every Saturday and Sunday at their Cutchogue tasting room during September and October.

Local farms and other artisanal food and drink purveyors will be the stops on North Fork Reform Synagogue’s ninth annual Foodie Tour, set for Sunday, Sept. 20. The self-guided event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with exclusive tours, demonstrations, talks and family activities. (more…)

When farmer Fred Lee of Sang Lee Farms became a father, he wanted to avoid sitting down at the dinner table doused in pesticide residue at the end of the day.

The second generation grower began changing the way his family tended to its crop and in 2006, the Peconic farm received its organic certification. (more…)
