"I'm in a love hate relationship with Mondays. Although the weekend is over, i look at it as an opportunity to sart over and hit the reset button. It allows me to continue working on something wih a fresh mind that I meant to finish or do last week without being too hard on myself. (Credit: @katelynnknapp)

We were treated to most unusual February days this weekend when Long Island temperatures reached a record 64 degrees on Friday and 65 on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

We were brought back down to earth on Sunday with temperatures in the 40s, but those clear, sunny skies still made for some pretty Instagram photos.

Be ready for more springlike temperatures later in the week with a high of 58 degrees predicted for Wednesday.

The warm sun on our faces was a welcome feeling this weekend, when temperatures reached into the 60s. But it was slightly strange to enjoy the warmth when many parts of the North Fork are still covered in snow.

Last Thursday’s storm dumped about a foot of snow on the East End. While that meant school closings and annoying commutes, it was also a time to take in the beauty of snow-covered farms, vines and beaches.

Here are some of our favorite NoFo Instagram ice shots from the weekend.

And how about the above photo of a hot tub set against the backdrop of a snowy vineyard? Hey @winedanddined, can we come hang out at your house?

High temperatures in the 40s may not scream beach weather, but in February you’ll find solitude, beauty and serenity on the shores of the Peconic Bay and Long Island Sound.

The wind and air may be biting at this time of year, but the colors of the sky are a sight to behold.

Sunsets are clearer in autumn and winter because the clean, dry air allows more colors of the spectrum to shine through, according to weather.com.

Summer is the high season on the NoFo, but the crisp skies and low sunsets of the winter are a sight to behold.

And while the morning temps are frequently below freezing, if you pay attention, you’ll notice the days are getting just a tad bit longer. Sunset is scheduled today for 4:49 p.m — which is way better than 4:26 p.m. on December 21!
