The walls of North Fork homes are often filled with stories of the area’s founders or multi-generational farm families, but one Mattituck house has ties to the 1939-40 New York World’s Fair, according to its listing agent. The kids are back in school, pumpkins are at the farm stands and there’s no way you’re getting me back in the pool. Let’s face it, for all intents and purposes, summer 2017 is over and done.

I’m not complaining, though. Being editor of northforker.com and northforker magazine means I get to have way more summer North Fork fun than most. And for that, I am lucky.
