The 64th annual Mattituck Lions Club Strawberry Festival officially kicked off Thursday with hulling night. The hundreds of volunteers who helped prepare all the strawberries for the festival received a strawberry daiquiri.

The four-day festival features a full slate of events Saturday, including the crowning of the Strawberry Queen at 3 p.m. and the return of the shortcake-eating contest at 5 p.m.

The 2017 East End Seaport Museum’s Land & Sea Gala held at the Greenport Yacht & Shipbuilding Company.

The 28th annual East End Maritime Festival in Greenport kicked off Friday night with the Land and Sea Gala.

More than 20 local restaurants served up tastes accompanied by liquid refreshment from local wineries and beverage producers. The Maritime Festival continues Saturday and Sunday. See more photos below and check back for additional coverage from Saturday’s events. (more…)
