This weekend’s Horseradish Festival in Riverhead has a new look and location from year’s past, and now you can buy tickets for half the price.

Starfish Junction Productions, which is organizing this year’s festival, announced the discounted ticket sale Monday. Instead of the $20 you’d be charged at the door, tickets are $10 when you use the promo code HALLOCKVILLE50. The price includes access to the festival, free programming, activities and contests.

All you have to do is visit the ticket purchasing site and enter the promo code. Children under 12 get in for free.

Event organizer Nora Donnelly of Starfish Junction Productions said the Horseradish Party, which had been held for more than four decades, had grown too much to continue in its previous capacity. The annual event become so popular it was moved to a barn at Martha Clara six years ago.

Now it’s growing again.

“We wanted to get Long Island on the map as far as horseradish goes and get the community involved,” Ms. Donnelly said last month. “It was a little bloom of something that we decided to take on and make a big event.”

The day promises to be a celebration of all things horseradish with demonstrations, shopping and a highly anticipated “Bloody Mary” contest.

In addition to the contests, there will be will be an egg hunt, potato sack race and a ‘build your own Mr. Potato Head’ workshop for kids. For adults there will be live music, food and drinks.

The North Fork Horseradish Festival is set for Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hallockville Museum Farm in Riverhead.
