Who said you needed ice to have an igloo?

This winter heated igloos have been all the rage at restaurants and resorts across the country and you don’t have to travel far to experience them here.

Gurney’s Montauk put in four heated igloos this winter to maximize outside comfort in winter. The clear igloos are made from PVC piping and twinkle lights. They’re also stocked with games and puzzles for families and friends to enjoy. Families can also request a story time session on Saturday nights, in which a staffer will share a story with your children.

Two of the igloos are located adjacent to fire pits, so you can double your warmth. The other two are located on the East Deck. All four come with views of the ocean and the club’s 2,000 feet of private beach.

Gurney’s is aiming to prove Montauk isn’t just for summer and the igloos pair nicely with some of the events the resort has lined up for winter.

On Saturdays they’re hosting live music acts in the cocktail club beginning at 7 p.m. Hour-long wine and mixology classes are being hosted at 3 p.m.
