The North Fork TV Festival returns for its third year Sept. 6 in Greenport.
The three-day festival, a showcase for independent television pilots, will take place at the historic Greenport Theatre and other locations throughout the village.
This year was the first time the festival was open to submissions of independent pilots, which have been judged and selected by industry professionals and creators.
“We are excited to introduce new partnerships, industry representatives, and talent that are joining us this year along with the community that’s been with us over the years,” North Fork TV Festival Founder Noah Doyle said in a statement. “Being in the golden age of TV, we are thrilled to showcase talent to an engaged audience. We look forward to returning to Greenport and its vibrant community.”
In addition to the screenings, the festival features an industry panel brunch on Friday, Sept. 7 at The Halyard Restaurant at Sound View; an opening night party sponsored by northforker on Sept. 7 at Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. on Carpenter Street; and an Oyster Season Kick-off party on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Greenport American Legion.
There will also be an actors panel discussing what it is like to work in the television industry on Sept. 8. The panelists include Italia Ricci from ABC’s Designated Survivor; Eka Darville from Netflix’s Jessica Jones; and Janina Gavankar from HBO’s True Blood.
“I welcome everyone to come be a part of the audience that will change television,” said Chairman Bill Persky in a press release. “And I look forward to having our festival-goers experience the best TV content that can’t be seen on TV.”
