Here we go. Memorial Day may mark the unofficial start of summer across the nation, but here on the North Fork it is the official start of can’t-miss events season.

From a rosé crawl to a celebrity chef dinner to the Mattituck Lions Club Strawberry Festival, the season is starting to heat up on the North Fork.

Here are 10 things to do in June:

Watch dogs dive

Fido will once again be flying high during the second annual North Fork Dog Dock Diving Festival. Watch as dozens of dogs — both diving novices and experienced pros — leap off a dock into a 20-by-40-foot pool at the Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. brewery in Peconic.

The brewery and Harbor Pet in Greenport have teamed up for the two-day fundraiser benefiting the Guide Dog Foundation. Expect vendors, live music and, of course, local craft beer.

North Fork Dog Dock Diving Festival is Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3.

Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. is located at 42155 Main Road in Peconic

* The organizers are cautioning about extremely limited parking. Spots are on a first-come, first-served basis at the brewery and cost $10. There are also two off-site parking areas: 36450 County Road 48, Southold and 1410 Leslie Road, Cutchogue. There will be free shuttles to and from the parking areas that run every 20 minutes. Don’t park on the street or you’ll get a ticket.

Celebrate spring the northforker way at Tanger Outlets

Northforker is once again partnering with area businesses to bring an afternoon of fun to the Riverhead outlet center.

The Tanger Weekends Spring Festival is set for noon on Saturday, June 2. This is the second of four family-friendly afternoons designed to showcase all the North Fork (and the outlets) has to offer with each changing season.

The northforker team has rounded up some of our favorites for the spring event at Tanger I. It will feature smoked barbecue from Grace & Grit, doughnuts from the new North Fork Donut Co. and rosé from Croteaux Vineyards. Other vendors will also be serving up empanadas, crepes, ice cream and more.

Sang Lee Farms and Children’s Museum of the East End will be providing activities for the little ones and Long Island Disc Golf will host demonstrations. New to this event will be live music from students at East End Arts and a DJ will be playing Latin dance music.

The Art Bus will also be on hand to host art demonstrations.

It’s hard to deny why Lavender by the Bay is so popular.

The English lavender fields begin to bloom come mid-June through early July. The annual natural wonder draws thousands to the East Marion farm every summer to take in the sights and aromas.

The farm is now open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entry is $6 on weekdays and $9 on weekends and national holidays, per person, for ages 12 and up — and picture taking is welcomed, for you budding Instagram stars.

Give dad something he can really sink his teeth into this Father’s Day. Monday Pig Roasts at First and South is back Monday, June 18 and continues through Labor Day.

There is a notable addition to the summertime tradition this year. The Greenport restaurant has a new roaster to cook the pig on the outside patio, instead of in the kitchen.

The $40 ticket price includes the specialty pig roast along with a beer. Different Long Island breweries will serve pints each week. The regular menu and a raw bar will also be served. The Monday night events go from 5 to 10 p.m. First come, first served.
