Good news alert: The days are getting longer and spring is mere weeks away.

Although there’s still a chill in the air, this is no time to stay at home. Some of our favorite North Fork locales are offering plenty to do to get us through the last push of winter.

Here are 10 things to do in March:

Tanger Weekends Winter Festival

Tanger has partnered with northforker for a fun-filled and family-friendly afternoon designed to showcase all the North Fork and the outlets have to offer on Saturday, March 3 from 1 to 5 p.m.

Join us outside the Tanger 2 food court for ice carving before indulging in smoked barbecue from Grace & Grit, beer from Greenport Harbor Brewing Co., wine from Macari Vineyards and hot cider and baked goods from Main Road Biscuit Co.

The Children’s Museum of the East End is also presenting snow-themed activities for kids and a children’s book story walk your family can read piece by piece as you peruse the stores.

Go seal watching

Seals in Cutchogue.

We may not enjoy basking on the beach this time of year, but it is peak season for seal watching. Head over to Hallock State Park Preserve for a chance to spot them from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 10. Join the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society to learn about the seal species that visit our waters, the threats they face and how to help them.
