Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. held its first North Fork Chili Cook-Off Sunday afternoon at its Peconic location. 

Hundreds attended the sold-out event, sampling chili from eight local restaurants: 1943 Pizza Bar, American Beech, Ammirati’s, Crazy Beans, Grace & Grit, Love Lane Kitchen, Little Creek Oyster Farm and The North Fork Shack.

Little Creek Oyster Farm’s Ian Wile took first place with his Puerta Verde Chile made with pork, hatch green chilis, tomatillos and GHB’s Anti-Freeze brew.

American Beech was the runner up and Crazy Beans came in third place.

The contest was judged by North Fork chef and columnist John Ross, Chef Noah Schwartz of Noah’s Restaurant in Greenport, acclaimed NYC chef and restauranteur Andrew Carmellini, NYC executive beverage director Josh Nadel and Heather Suter, proprietor of Greenport Fire Hot Sauces.
