This New Suffolk property presents owners with a unique opportunity.

Known as “Cottage Cove,” the .28 acre parcel is home to a two-story house and three cottages, all available as rentals.

Owners can live in the main house full-time or rent it out year-round. Additionally, the cottages can serve as summer rentals from May through October, said co-listing agent Thomas McCloskey of Douglas Elliman Real Estate.

“It presents tremendous opportunities for someone with imagination,” added fellow co-listing agent Victoria Germaise, also of Douglas Elliman Real Estate. “Certainly you could utilize it the way it’s been used for all these years. Or you can just kind of reimagine it and make it something else, because you’ve got that hamlet business zoning.”

The main house was recently refurbished and offers views of Cutchogue Harbor from multiple rooms in the house, including the upstairs master bedroom. It also features an upstairs balcony and covered porch.

One cottage is a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom unit with a porch out back and another is very similar. The third cottage is a studio, the agents explained.

“It presents a nice investment opportunity for someone interested in being in New Suffolk,” McCloskey said. “Or some people are interested in a family compound where they have the main house and three cottages for guests. It’s great for someone who does a lot of entertaining.”

Located on 2nd Street, Cottage Cove is within walking distance from the marina, beaches and restaurants of New Suffolk, McCloskey’s favorite aspect of the property.

For Germaise, the old-fashioned style of the house and cottages is what appeals to her most.

“It’s a very unique compound in a storybook setting,” she said. “It’s really like going back in time. It feels like the 1950s and it’s like being in Mayberry [the fictitious town from The Andy Griffith Show.]”

The property is listed at $1,799,000.
