Moustache Brewing Co., the tiny Riverhead craft beer producer with a large loyal following, is about to grow fourfold.

Co-owners Lauri and Matt Spitz announced earlier this week that they have signed a lease to take over the rest of the building that houses their Hallet Avenue operation, increasing their footprint from 1,400- to roughly 5,600-square-feet.

“We have been cramped in our space since a year after we opened,” Ms. Spitz said. “I have an office now, which is really exciting. I used to work on a pile of boxes.”

The new space will allow for extra storage and potentially additional fermentators, which would increase their maximum beer output. A new tasting room will take up 1,200-square-feet of the building, which is the roughly the entire size of the current tasting room and brewery.

The former tasting room will remain open during renovations and the new space is expected to open in early 2018. The new tasting room will retain the industrial feel and décor of its predecessor, with exposed concrete floor, a larger bar and Moustache merchandise for sale.

“We want to keep it so it feels the way it does now,” Ms. Spitz said.

The microbrewery opened in April 2014 after the couple successfully raised $31,000 through crowdfunding website Kickstarter.

In 2015 the couple added two new seven-barrel fermentation tanks, which nearly quadrupled the brewery’s maximum output and bottled its fits brew soon after. And in September 2016 Moustache canned its first beer.

The staff has grown to include two full-time employees in addition to the Spitzs and about eight part-timers, Ms. Spitz said.
