In between visiting the wineries or are you hungry for that new favorite grab-and-go bite? Whether you are craving a just-like-home, hearty classic sandwich or something with a more exotic bite, below are our five favorite sandwich spots on the North Fork and which ones you should order first.

Their Banh Mi is their biggest seller and for all the right reasons. This Vietnamese sandwich comes with a choice of Lemongrass Chicken or Roast Pork Shoulder served with pickled daikon radish and carrots, cucumbers, cilantro, mayo and can be spicy or non-spicy served on a hero. If you prefer more sweet and savory, their Bacon and Date Grilled Cheese with applewood-smoked bacon and creamy goat cheese really hits the spot.

If you pop in to this rustic and friendly coffee shop for breakfast, treat yourself to their Waffle Egg Sammy: two local eggs, gruyere, onion jam, applewood-smoked bacon on a waffle. Swing by again for lunch and pick up their Fig Tartine to take to the vineyards: country bread, melted Brie cheese, grilled mission figs, prosciutto and balsamic.

A landmark on the East End, Modern Snack Bar has been a favorite of locals and visitors alike for over a half a century. Their sandwiches are ones you can always rely on for great taste and quality. Their North Fork Reuben is a customer-favorite, made with lean, thin-sliced corn beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and Thousand Island dressing on rye bread, and grilled to a crispy perfection. Offering some of the best carryout sandwiches around, it is well worth the trip way out east and is a perfect pit stop for traveling to the Orient Point Ferry. Try their Crispy Chicken with Sriracha mayo, lettuce, tomato, and American cheese.

Claudio’s Clam Bar’s Fish Reuben is a must-have and is made with the fresh fish of the day prepared in a Reuben style and topped with Hawaiian cole slaw.
