The Great Jack O’ Lantern Blaze/Facebook

You’ve taken the Hampton Jitney to the North Fork, but what about taking an excursion off the island to points north this fall?

The northforker team recently reviewed Hampton Jitney’s list of upcoming fall excursions and picked our three favorites departing from the North Fork, each of which is sure to deliver plenty of fall foliage and fun.

The Great Jack O’ Lantern Blaze and Irving’s ‘Legend’

This $149 tour on Thursday, Oct. 19 has five pickup points on the North Fork before heading to Sunset Cove restaurant on the Hudson River in Tarrytown.  After an early dinner, guests head to Irving’s “Legend,” a live recounting of the “Legend of Sleepy Hollow” at the Old Dutch Church. Afterward you get to spend two hours among thousands of carved pumpkins at the Great Jack O’ Lantern Blaze at Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson.

Fall in the Hudson Valley

This $116 tour on Thursday, Oct. 19 has five pickup points on the North Fork before heading to Newburgh for lunch at Blu Pointe restaurant. Guests then take a narrated two-hour Hudson River cruise aboard the “Pride of the Hudson” before returning back to the North Fork.

Fall in love with Vermont Four-Day Tour

If the first two options feel a little rushed for you, consider spending four days in Vermont this fall. On Monday Oct. 23 Hampton Jitney is driving guests to Vermont for a trip ending on Thursday, Oct. 26. The tour is $753 per person and features accommodations at the Middlebury Inn. Among the highlights of the trip are the experience of learning how to make Maple Syrup at Morse Farm, a granite quarry tour at Rock of Ages and taking in the lake and mountain scenery at Shelburne Farms.
