Paddle Battle

The fifth annual Paddle Battle Long Island is set to hit the Peconic River in Downtown Riverhead on Saturday, July 29. Registration begins at 7 a.m. on the Peconic Waterfront. Entry fees are $65 on race day. Rental canoes and kayaks are available for $4. Visit paddlebattleli.com for more info.

Oxen 101 at Hallockville

Learn about working with oxen at Hallockville Museum Farm on Saturday, July 29. You’ll even get a chance to work in the field with Hallockville’s oxen Eddie and Dylan. The event runs from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. and is $15 for museum members, or $20 for the public. Advance registration is required. Click here for more info.

Haven’s Farmers Market on Shelter island

Pickup some local produce, flowers, herbs, fish, breads, pies, salads, cheese, olive oils and more at the weekly Haven’s Farmers Market, held at the Havens House Museum on the Shelter Island Historical Society campus. The event is held from 9:30 a.m. until noon rain or shine and admission is free. Click here for directions and more info.

Lobsterfest

Enjoy lobster in a beautiful setting as the Southold and Greenport Rotary Clubs host the 25th Annual Lobsterfest at Founder’s Landing this Saturday, July 29.

One of the North Fork’s most beloved summertime activities, the event takes place from 5 to 9:30 p.m. and raises money for many projects that benefit both communities. The event is held at the Wharf House at Founders Landing, located at the end of Hobart Road in Southold.

Tickets are $55 in advance for adults or $60 at the door. Kids ages 12 and under are $7.

Opening at Alex Ferrone gallery

Municipal Building by Ray Germann will be on display at Alex Ferrone Gallery in Cutchogue.
