This new listing comes with centuries local history.

Built in the 1740s, the home was moved from Main Road to its current East Marion location, a nine acre lot on Circle Drive, in 1960.

The family who owns the home has owned the property since the 1940s, when it was used as a farm. It’s been owned by the same family since the 1940s,  said listing agent Paul Loeb of Douglas Elliman Real Estate.

“It’s a rare combination of antique character, charm, modern function and convenience,” Loeb said of the 3,100-square-foot home.

Portions of the home, which has three bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms, were built after the move. Still, many aspects of the original house — such as the siding, wooden ceiling beams and original front entrance, which now serves as the side door — remain intact.

The home has a full basement — rare for a structure built in the 1700s — central air, an updated kitchen and three working fireplaces.

Additionally, the sprawling property leaves room for future homeowners to build a pool, tennis courts, horse barns or additional homes. Mr. Loeb said the land is subdividable with one acre zoning, calling the options for the property “very versatile.”

“It’s a really special, unique opportunity for someone on the North Fork,” he said. “It’s a rare combination of subdividable land and an antique home in beautiful condition and privacy, with a walk to the beach that makes it stand out amongst the sea of available inventory.”

The home is listed at $1,499,000.
