Looking for something to do on the North Fork this weekend?

Here are five events to check out. Or, as always, you can visit northforker.com/events for more ideas.

‘A Day in the Life of a Bayman’

Greenport fisherman, bartender, photographer and overall great guy Chris Hamilton will have his work displayed at the East End Seaport Museum this summer. Many of his photographs show life out on the water with his dad, Captain Bob Hamilton. His work has attracted more than 2,000 followers on Instagram, where observers are often left stunned at the natural beauty he captures out on the open waters. Follow him at @northforkerfisherman to see what we’re talking about and then head out to meet Chris at the East End Seaport Museum tonight, Friday, June 23 at 5:30 p.m. for an artist reception. The museum is located at the Ferry Dock on Third Street.

Bug Light Cruise and Tour

The new display isn’t the only thing the East End Seaport Museum has cooking this weekend. A Bug Light Cruise and Tour is planned for Saturday at 4 p.m. The two-hour cruise is $39 with discounts for seniors and others. The roundtrip cruise heads to the Long Beach Bar “Bug” Lighthouse and is narrated with all sorts of information about the lighthouse and its surroundings. Visit eastendseaport.org for more info and additional cruise dates.

Kelp dinner at Noah’s

Speaking of life on the bay and what’s cooking in Greenport Friday night, Chef Noah Schwartz is hosting a special kelp dinner at his eponymous Front Street restaurant Friday in an effort to show off what you can do with this nutritious and sustainable crop taken from our local waters. A portion of proceeds will benefit Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program. Tickets are $85 each and can be purchased here. Advanced reservations are recommended. The dinner runs from 7 to 10 p.m.
