If you are in need of a little soul therapy this month, you’re in luck.
Spirit’s Promise horse farm and equine sanctuary is continuing its “Peonies for Ponies” event every Sunday in June.
For $5 per person (ages 5 and up), you get a tour of the horse farm and can visit the one acre field of in-bloom peonies.
“They are done blooming in July so it’s a very special time,” said farm manager Jessie Siegel. “It’s a full experience. Last week, nobody had their phones out, everybody was in the moment.”
Bunches of cut flowers will be available for $10. Additionally, mature abalone pearl peonies plants will be available to pre-order for $35. The bushes will be dug up this fall, following the bloom. If you pre-order a plant, you also get a free bunch of cut flowers.
Artisanal vendors will also be on hand selling their goods.
And, of course, you will be able to meet the farm’s 19 horses which includes miniature horses. The farm is home to goats, chickens and a pig as well.
“You get a tour of the farm, families can learn about all of the horses, give them carrots and cookies,” Siegel said. “It’s really fun.”
Peonies for Ponies began as a one-time event, but was expanded due to its popularity, Siegel said.
The event runs 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 18 and 25.
