Even in the era of Yelp, landing on a list from Zagat (which is owned by Google) is still a big deal thanks in part to its integration with Google’s mapping service. So congrats to one of our favorite spots!

Little Creek Oysters opened their market, which is also Long Island’s first U-shuck location, in July 2014. The Greenport market and eatery curates a selection of local shellfish, sometimes with as many as 20 oyster varieties (including from its own underwater farm) from six different bodies of water.

The Front Street building, once the wheelhouse of a whaling ship, was cut off and brought ashore sometime in the 19th century. It has been a bait shop, with various owners, in the years since.

“It is our privilege to find a little slice of working waterfront left on the North Fork and bring this important, local and sustainable product to our visitors,” Wile said.

Little Creek Oysters is located at 37 Front Street, Greenport.
