Published by northforker’s parent company Times Review Media Group and edited by northforker editor Vera Chinese, the quarterly magazine covers Long Island wine industry happenings.

The 60-page publication, which has a 35,000 issue press run, is distributed at wineries, restaurants and other tourist locations across the East End, western Long Island and New York City. The magazine is free.

“We’re very proud to have such talented contributors like Emmy Award-winning photographer Randee Daddona, local shutterbug David Benthal, wine writer Lenn Thompson and features writers Rachel Young, Monique Singh-Roy and Nicole Smith, working for us” Chinese said. “I think we’ve upped the quality of the stories and photography in recent years and I hope that comes through for our readers.”

Inside this edition you will find a profile on the home winemaker turned pro Jim Waters, an interview with the owners of Wednesday’s Table in Southold and a feature on Hounds Tree Wines, the North Fork’s newest wine label.

You will also find a look at some 2001 reds that have held up, wine picks for winter, a wine country calendar and map and more.

The striking cover photo, captured by Benthal, features a closeup shot of a wine bottle wall at Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack. The book also contains a Q and A with the winery’s tasting room manager, Suellen Tunney.

Follow northforker this week as the website posts many of these stories online.

“We love telling the stories of the people who make Long Island’s wine country such a special place, and we hope that you enjoy reading it,” Chinese said.
