The 18th annual Sound to Bay 10K kicks off in Jamesport at 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 28.
The event consists of two races: a 10K that travels from the Long Island Sound to Peconic Bay and a 5K that extends from Peconic Bay Boulevard to South Jamesport Beach. The race is sponsored by the Jamesport Fire Department.
Participants can park at South Jamesport Beach and register between 7 and 8:30 a.m. Preregistration is $25, while registration is $30 the day of the race.
10K participants will be bussed to the starting area at Iron Pier Beach.
T-shirts are available while supplies last. No strollers, baby joggers, bicycles, roller blades/skates, skateboards or pets are permitted on the race courses.
