What better way to bring attention to the work of local artists than to have their projects on display during the popular Alive on 25 street fair?

That’s what’s happening Aug. 11, when the next Alive on 25 will coincide with the return of JumpstART, which will showcase the work of 14 East End artists.

The artists were chosen from among many applicants to participate in the project. JumpstART’s artists will showcase paintings, murals, live music, dance performances, interactive projects and much more, all of it during Riverhead’s Alive at 25 festival from 5 to 9 p.m.

All of the exhibits, installations and activities can be visited throughout the evening and all of them are free to experience.

The JumpstART program, now in its third year, helps artists develop business skills and shows stores how to incorporate artists into their business models. The program is also a way to help artists “jumpstart” their artistic careers.

“JumpstART demonstrates how valuable the arts are to a vibrant and fun community,” said East End Arts Executive Director Pat Snyder. “We are excited to incorporate JumpstART into this year’s new Alive on 25 festival.”
