Fresh Direct, the online grocer delivering to residences and offices in the New York metro area as well as the Hamptons, was at Wickham’s Fruit Farm in Cutchogue Monday morning shooting a new fall ad campaign.

Fresh Direct is trying to get their customers to understand where their food is coming from,” explained photographer Johnny Miller, who was part of the shoot. “Nobody knows the attention to detail that Wickham’s has and how great this place is. That’s one of the big challenges for Fresh Direct and part of their new campaign for the fall.”

For their campaign, Fresh Direct interviewed owner Tom Wickham and showcased his farm, which has been growing fruit on the North Fork for over 300 years.

“They wanted some reflection from us growers,” Wickham said. “Fresh Direct photographed our tomatoes, peaches, berries and apples, basically all the different fruits that we grow. While it’s for their campaign, maybe it’ll help us too.”

Wickham’s Fruit Farm has been selling some of its produce to Fresh Direct for about five years.

“When we have enough products, we occasionally do sell outside of our own farm stand,” Wickham said. “Fresh Direct buys quite a few items from us this time of year. We’ve grown a lot of greenhouse tomatoes this season, so we’ve sold them a lot of tomatoes.”

Wickham’s Fruit Farm is located at 28700 Main Road in Cutchogue and open every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Sunday. For more information call (631) 734-6441 or visit wickhamsfruitfarm.com.
