Bring your appetite to the New Suffolk Waterfront Fund’s 8th annual Chowderfest this Saturday, May 28 from noon to 3 p.m.

This family-fun event has become a New Suffolk tradition set on the beautiful Peconic Bay.

Enjoy a variety of locally prepared chowders, as well as a full barbeque lunch. There will be face painting plus many more activities for children, as well as music, a flower and plant sale, and a Chinese auction.

“This year we’ve really gone all out to make sure the kids have as much fun as their parents,” said Linda Auriemma, vice chair of the New Suffolk Waterfront Fund. “Kids activities will include tie-dye crafts, a dress-up photo booth, pin the nose on the clown, bucket ball, boat races, ring toss, bean bag toss, plus there will be prizes, popcorn and bubble wands.”

All proceeds from the event go toward the continuing restoration and revitalization of the New Suffolk Waterfront Fund property.

Tickets to the event are $25 per person, children under 12 are free. To purchase tickets call 631-566-0806 before 5 p.m. Friday or visit newsuffolkwaterfront.org.

The event will take place along the waterfront at Main and First Street. Parking and transportation will be available at Wickham’s Fruit Farm at 28700 Main Road in Cutchogue. From there a shuttle bus will transport patrons to the Chowderfest. A rain date is scheduled for Monday, May 30.
