A late spring day dedicated to sampling different styles of North Fork rosé is set for next month.

Four area wineries — Bridge Lane Wines, Castello di Borghese vineyard and winery, The Lenz Winery and Roanoke Vineyards on Love Lane — will offer complimentary tastings of the pink drink of the summer during the first-ever “North Fork Rosé Crawl.”

The self-guided tour will take place Saturday, June 11, during participating wineries’ tasting room hours. The event coincides with National Rosé Day, which is held on the second Saturday in June.

Bridge Lane will offer rosé cocktails for purchase, along with complimentary sips of its recently released 2015 rosé, which is a perennial northforker favorite.

“It’s a dry-style rose made primarily with cab franc,” said Bridge Lane tasting room director Alicia Ekeler-Valle, who is organizing the event. “It is super crisp, very light with notes of strawberry, maybe a little bit of melon.”

Borghese will offer tastes of its NV Fleurette and its 2014 Rosé of Merlot, while Lenz will offer sips of its 2014 Blanc de Noir along with a light snack. Roanoke will serve its 2015 rosé paired with cheese.

“We all make rosés in different styles, so it will be interesting for guests to try different rosés from the region,” Ekeler-Valle said.

Originally set to be an event at Bridge Lane, Ekeler-Valle said other wineries were happy to sign on.

“I expressed the idea to a few of my friends at other wineries and they loved it,” Ekeler-Valle said. “I figured, why not make it a cross-promotional event?”

Participating wineries ask that groups of six or more call ahead to make sure they will be accommodated.

The rosé tour will feature the following locations:

Bridge Lane Wines, 35 Cox Neck Road, Mattituck, (631) 298-1942.

The Lenz Winery, 38355 Main Road, Peconic, (631) 734-6010.
