Two months after the death of Gerry Hayden, North Fork Table and Inn‘s executive chef and co-owner, Long Island’s premier dining destination has named a new chef de cuisine.
Stephan Bogardus, who held that same title from 2011 to 2013, has taken over the position, according to co-owner Mary Mraz.
A Southold native, Bogardus, 27, learned his way around the kitchen working at several East End eateries. The chef, who speaks four languages, attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, graduating in 2009.
He also appeared on the Food Network contest show “Chopped” in 2013.
Representatives from the restaurant could not immediately be reached for comment.

Bogardus’ first day at the restaurant is Nov. 1, Newsday reported, which is also the first day NOFOTI will participate in Long Island Restaurant Week. The restaurant will offer a $27.95 three-course prix fixe dinner on Sunday, Nov. 1; Monday, Nov. 2; Thurday, Nov. 5; and Friday, Nov. 6. It will offer the prix fixe lunch and dinner on Saturday, Nov. 7, and Sunday, Nov. 8.

The menu still features many of Hayden’s original dishes, according to a restaurant email blast.
NOFOTI continues to receive acclaim in the restaurant world, most recently being rated number one on Long Island by Zagat.
North Fork Table & Inn was put on the market in 2014. It is currently listed for $3.2 million.
