1. Lieb Cellars Oysterfest

Enjoy two of the finest things in life — good wine and fresh oysters — at Lieb Cellars‘ 11th annual Oysterfest this Saturday.

The event runs from noon to 4 p.m. on August 1 at The Bridge Lane tasting room (Lieb’s sister label) at 35 Cox Neck Lane in Mattituck.

Participating oyster farmers include Lucky 13, Little Creek and Ketcham’s Sea Farm as well as several local restaurant and beverage vendors.

Admission is $15 in advance and at the door and includes one glass of Bridge Lane wine. Admission for wine club members is $10.

2. Southold 375th Anniversary Parade

Celebrate Southold’s 375th anniversary with a kickoff parade down Main Road on Saturday. The parade will start at the corner of South Harbor Rd. and Route 25 near Triangle Park at 11 a.m. It will end at the corner of Route 25 and Boisseau Avenue.

3. Old Town Arts and Crafts Guild annual show

There is no cost to attend this family friend affair on Saturday, Aug. 1. There will be paintings, pottery, jewelry, crafts and photography for sale as wells as live music, food and a Chinese auction. The fair will be located at the corner of Main Road and Cases Lane in Cutchogue.

The fair runs from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The rain date is Aug. 2.

4. Battle of the Noble Grapes

Oenophiles can compare two noble grape varieties, chardonnay and riesling, during the “Battle of the Noble Grapes” at Waters Crest Winery on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Participants will be tasting  vintages back through 2004.

Entrance fee is $30 or $25 for Waters Crest wine club members. RSVP by calling the winery at (631) 734-5065.

Waters Crest Winery is located at 22355 Main Road in Cutchogue.

5. Artist’s works on display

The work of artist William Steeple Davis will be on display at the Oysterponds Historical Society’s Swanson Gallery in Orient this summer. See some of Davis’ works, which include early 20th century photographs of Orient, as well as his paintings.

The show runs Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. through October. There is no fee to see the work.

The gallery is located at 1555 Village Lane in Orient.
