An eight-part TV miniseries coproduced by HBO is filming in Wading River Wednesday afternoon.

“The Young Pope” starring Jude Law and Diane Keaton will be on location at Lewin Farms today, July 29. The mini-series will be filming intermittently on Hulse Landing Road between Sound Avenue and Route 25A from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The small film crew will only be in town for one day, town sources said.

“They’re shooting a scene of two young boys running away from something,” said Pam Lewin-Saviano, a manager at the farm. “[The location scouts] were looking for a Pacific look and didn’t want to see a road in [the shot.] I have a piece way in back that’s isolated and had rye growing on it. It looks like the middle of nowhere”

An HBO spokesperson did not immediately return a request for comment.

The series, which is produced jointly by Sky, HBO and France’s Canal Plus, tells the story of the fictional American Pope Pius XIII, according to Variety.

This is not the first time HBO has chosen the North Fork as a backdrop for one its shows. Girls filmed and episode in Greenport in 2013 and Boardwalk Empire filmed a scene for its season 2 finale in 2011.
