GOT MILK?  I know I do!

Ty Llwyd Farm is the fishizzle of cow palaces. I mean, if you are looking for real milk, when you try this, you will never look back.Trust me. I used to have to import mine from Pennsylvania!

The Northville farm has 23 Jersey cows, a breed that was originally bred by the French to produce milk for cheesemaking.

Check this out: Galen, Hippocrates, Pliny, Varro, Marcellus Empiricus, Bacchis and Anthimus, leading physicians of their day, all used raw milk in the treatment of disease, according to the Weston Price Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to promoting a nutrient rich diet. During the 1920s, Dr. J. E. Crewe of the Mayo Foundation used a diet of raw milk to cure TB, edema, heart failure, high blood pressure, prostate disease, urinary tract infections, diabetes, kidney disease, chronic fatigue and obesity. Today, in Germany, successful raw milk therapy is provided in many hospitals, according to Weston Price.

I grew up on this stuff and have raised those kids of mine on it. Yes, it’s a hot button with some (Editor’s note: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises against drinking raw milk), but in the end we all have to make decisions about what we choose to consume. Ty Llwyd also has amazing free-range eggs and seasonal produce, as well.

Check out our video below where Ty Llwyd’s Caitlin Grilli teaches me how to milk their cows.

Thank you for watching this week’s edition of the Spin and I look forward to seeing you next time!
