By mid-June, North Fork strawberries are reaching their peak and these juicy berries are bursting with flavor.
To celebrate, Mattituck Lions Club will host its 61st annual Strawberry Festival at Strawberry Fields in Mattituck from Thursday, June 18, to Sunday, June 21.
Throughout the weekend, visitors will have the chance to hear live music, purchase goods from arts and crafts vendors, sample treats made with strawberries and enjoy food and beverages. The event is alcohol-free and no pets are permitted on festival grounds.
The festival kicks off Thursday with Hulling Night from 5 to 9 p.m. The carnival will also be open from 5 to 10 p.m. that night and offers free admission. On Friday, the festival will be open from 5 to 11 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and children 5 and over; free for children under 5. Fireworks will go off around 9:30 p.m.
On Saturday, the festival will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and children 5 and older and free for children under 5. The new Strawberry Queen will be crowned at 3 p.m. and fireworks will go off around 9:30 p.m.
Sunday’s festival hours are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and children 5 and older and free for children under 5. In honor of Father’s Day, admission will be waived for dads who are accompanied by a paying child.
Pay-one-price ride bracelets are available for purchase as well as single-ride tickets. Prices vary by days and times.
