Who says soup can’t be served in the summer? The New Suffolk Waterfront Fund’s Chowderfest is going against this principle for its seventh consecutive season.
The family-friendly event features a wide variety of locally prepared chowders, a full BBQ lunch, activities for kids, live music and a chinese auction. More than 50 varieties of perennial plants will be available for purchase; proceeds go toward the restoration and revitalization of the New Suffolk Waterfront property.
The event takes place Saturday, May 23, from noon to 3 p.m. on the waterfront in New Suffolk. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of. Children under 12 are free.
