The North Fork Craft Beer Festival celebrates and showcases artisanal beer every year. And the Pour the Core festival, coming up on its fourth year, does the same thing for craft cider.

But there’s never been a similar large-scale event on the North Fork where patrons could sample the offerings of several Long Island wineries (and purchase the bottles they like) in one spot.

Until this summer.

Jamesport Vineyards will host the inaugural North Fork Crush Wine & Artisanal Food Fair on Saturday, June 27.

The festival producer, New York Wine Events, has hosted similar events in New York City and Brooklyn, including an event dubbed “Brooklyn Crush” which was most recently held on May 2.

“This event has a slightly different angle [than other local wine-related events]. It gives the wineries the ability to sell,” said Jamesport Vineyards president Ron Goerler Jr. “People can’t get to 18 different wineries — it’s impossible.”

The event is geared toward a very specific crowd — those with an appreciation for wine and food who might not be very familiar with the East End, organizers said.

“We’re bringing people out there who maybe have only been to one or two wineries,” said Carol Itzkowitz, a spokesperson for New York Wine Events. “They’ll see a lot of the people who are hands-on responsible for making the wines, which is very exciting.”

There will also be artisanal food producers — like pickle makers Backyard Brine and Blue Duck Bakery — offering samples of, as well as selling, their products.

“You won’t leave hungry and you won’t leave thirsty,” Itzkowitz said.

The event will also feature live jazz music. The accompanying food, which includes assorted cheeses, locally baked breads, and fresh fruits, will be provided by Noah’s of Greenport

Participating wineries are as follows: Brooklyn Oenology, Coffee Pot Cellars, Harbes Winery, Jamesport Vineyards, The Lenz Winery, Lieb Cellars, Long Island Merlot Alliance (Merliance), Martha Clara Vineyards, Mattebella Vineyards, Osprey’s Dominion, Palmer Vineyards, Raphael, Roanoke Vineyards, Saltbird Cellars, Sannino Bella Vita Vineyard, Sparkling Pointe, Waters Crest Winery and Brotherhood Winery (located in the Hudson Valley.)

Festivalgoers can chose from two sessions; 2 to 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Guest take home a complimentary tasting glass following the event.

General admission tickets are $69 in advance. VIP tickets, which include reserve wines and seafood plates prepared by Chef Noah Schwartz of Greenport, are $179 in advance.
