Long Island’s only wine brand with a focus on alternative packaging has quietly opened its own tasting room in Mattituck.

Fans of Bridge Lane Wine can now get its white blend, chardonnay, white merlot, red blend and rosé — available by the bottle, box or keg — at its new Cox Neck Road tasting room. The space is located at custom crush facility Premium Wine Group, in the tasting room that was most recently an outlet for wines made there.

Bridge Lane is the second label from the owners of Lieb Cellars in Cutchogue, who also own Premium Wine Group. The new space was unveiled on April 17.

“We felt like Bridge Lane needed a home base. It was treated as a secondary Lieb Cellars brand. If you looked at the old packaging it would say Lieb Cellars,” said Lieb and Bridge Lane general manager Ami Opisso. “I took a look at both brands and I felt like we would be better served if we separated them more. We focused on creating an identity and personality separate from Lieb. We wanted to have some fun and experiment.”

She noted that sales of Bridge Lane are up 20 percent since 2013.

The seating area of the tasting room was also given an overhaul with the addition of a wooden wraparound couch adorned with oversized pillows. She said it reflects the brand’s “easy and no pretense” vibe.

“It’s a more modern lounge space,” Opisso said. “We just kind of gave it a refresher.”

Select Lieb Cellars wines will be available at the new space. Lieb Cellars, 2010 blanc de blancs, 2012 pinot blanc and 2007 reserve merlot, as well as Rumor Mill sparkling cider were available by the taste on Sunday.

The tasting room will host live music outside on Saturdays from noon to 7 p.m. starting Memorial Day weekend.

Find them at 35 Cox Neck Road in Mattituck or call them at (631) 298-1942.
