Most people know that Ver Der Ber’s Landscape Nursery and Garden Center on Main Road in Aquebogue, which has been in business for 36 years, features acres and acres of shrubs, conifers and screening plants.
But lesser know is the hidden gem located in the middle of the property — an eight-year-old aviary with ducks, turkeys, chickens and flashy peacocks. This time of year is mating season, so you can hear their calls and watch as the males put on a show for the one female that resides there.
