Less means more for gourmet olive oil and vinegar boutique Vines & Branches.

It’s been one week since the shop opened in its new, smaller, storefront on Front Street in Greenport — and owner Rita Winkler said she’s expanded her product line to include several other specialty provisions customers have been craving. The new offerings include dips, spreads, seasonings and other types of oils such as avocado and pistachio.

“There are certain things people have been asking for and now we have them,” Winkler said.

But wait, there’s more.

In upcoming weeks, Winkler said, she will add pastas, beverages and cheeses to pair with balsamic vinegar.

Perhaps the new product we’re most excited about is Vines & Branches’ olive oil and balsamic gelato. Winkler is currently working with Mattituck’s Magic Fountain ice cream shop to perfect the recipe. As of now there is no release date for the gelato, but we’ll let you know when you can get it.

The move has also paved the away for another delicious venture to make Greenport its home. Winkler’s former Main Street storefront — and its adjoining outdoor patio space — caught the eye of a restaurateur who plans to reopen it as a high-end Japanese restaurant called Stirling Sushi.

After spending three years in her former location, Winkler told northforker last month that she saw an opportunity to grow her business by moving to more foot traffic-friendly Front Street.  She also decided to close the other two Vines & Branches’ locations in Westhampton and Southampton to focus more on her Greenport shop.

The new space is located at 110 Front Street, which was previously home to Fro-Yopia Frozen Yogurt before it closed in December. The store is open 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during the week (closed Tuesdays) and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
