Sunday marks the end of Long Island’s six-week music and wine celebration: Winterfest.

The annual festival was launched in 2006 as a way of cabin fever-ridden East Enders to escape the winter doldrums and to highlight the many attributes the region has to offer. In honor of experiencing all the North Fork has to offer, Our Weekend Pick is heading to premiere Southold restaurant A Lure for live music paired with local wine and food.

This Winterfest event, one of the few not held at one of our area wineries, is fun for the whole family. The featured band — The Days Beneath Us, which writes and performs its own acoustic music — appeals to a wide age of people ranging from younger teens to older adults.

Celebrated chef Tom Schaudel’s menu is also a crowd pleaser. The Southold restaurant offers a wide variety of fresh seafood dishes, desserts and cocktails, not to mention an extensive local wine list.

There is no cover charge to get in and the band is set to play from 2 to 5 p.m.

A Lure is located at 62300 Main Road in Southold.
