A new exhibit at Suffolk County Historical Society, “Ageless Beauty: Antique Dolls Exhibit,” features over 100 vintage dolls from the private collections of guest curator Betty Ann Richardson of East Patchogue and the historical society.

Richardson began collecting the dolls in the 1960s when her daughters were young. She began her collection with a Shirley Temple doll after her daughters grew uninterested in the toys.

The featured dolls are from the following toymakers: German doll makers Heinreich Handwerck, Simon & Halbig and Ernst Heubach; Jumeau dolls from France; Lenci dolls from Italy; and American Girl and Schoenhut dolls from America.

Also on display will be 30 doll paintings by local artist Rani Carson of Riverhead, which are available for purchase. All the furniture, dollhouses, cribs, carriages and highchairs on display are from the SCHS collection.

The show opened Nov. 21st and continues until March 7.
