Between trimming the turkey, whipping the mashed potatoes and baking the pumpkin pie, who has time to think about decorating for Thanksgiving? The good news is that it doesn’t have to be a chore. Here, local store owners from Calverton to Greenport identify six items they believe can add a touch of style to any holiday table.

“Using a simple vessel like this is an easy way to make your Thanksgiving table look beautiful because you can fill it with gourds or pumpkins,” said Phoebe & Belle owner Kathy Perretta of this narrow tray. Ms. Perretta’s Cutchogue shop, which opened earlier this year at the location of the former Down Home Store, sells the glazed ceramic piece in two sizes: 20.5 by 5.5 inches ($52) and 28 by 5.5 inches ($65).

Made in Portugal, the sleek, earthy tray has the contemporary feel many people now gravitate toward when decorating for the holidays, Ms. Perretta said.

“I think everybody wants to live a little less formally now,” she said. “It’s not always about having the best china — it’s about making everybody comfortable.”

Phoebe & Belle is located at 37070 Main Road, Cutchogue, 631-765-5120.

Turkey might be what you plan to eat this Thanksgiving, but you can clean up afterward with a pheasant — metaphorically, anyway. The White Weathered Barn in Greenport carries these oversize flour sack towels, each of which is screen-printed with a black-and-white illustration of the game bird.

Crafted from start to finish by Warwick, N.Y., artist Janet Howard, the unbleached cotton towels ($18 each) “wash beautifully and get really soft,” said Ms. Wilhelm, a friend of Ms. Howard’s.

The 28-by-28-inch cloths are functional, too: “They’re utilitarian,” Ms. Wilhelm said. “If you’re having a big feast, you can have a towel-sized napkin with it. But it also adds a little bit of whimsy to your table.”

The White Weathered Barn is located at 41 Front St., Greenport, 631-477-6811.

 3. Gabrielsen’s Country Farm

Make your table instantly festive with a cornucopia floral arrangement from Gabrielsen’s Country Farm in Jamesport.

The $38 centerpiece, which doesn’t require advance ordering and can even be picked up Thanksgiving Day, is filled with colorful blooms including roses, lilies and pom-poms, a traditional fall flower.

“We make hundreds of them,” said employee Lisa Gabrielsen, who has been designing the arrangements for two decades. “The cornucopias are a twist on the traditional Thanksgiving centerpiece, so it’s nice because it’s different.”

Cornucopia floral arrangements start at around $13, Ms. Gabrielsen said. Flowers can be placed into a traditional woven horn, like the one pictured here, or arranged in a pumpkin.

Gabrielsen’s Country Farm is located at 1299 Main Road, Jamesport, 631-722-3259.

4. Complement the Chef

This large round tray ($42.99) from household goods shop Complement the Chef in Southold is decorated with colorful foliage and can be used or displayed all season long.

“It’s a serving tray as well as a decorative tray, so it has multiple purposes,” said Meg Hochstrasser, co-owner of the Main Road shop.

Complement the Chef also sells these decorative candlestick rings — called bobeche — that fit any standard size candle holder. At $3.50 each, they’re a simple, inexpensive way to dress up the Thanksgiving table.

Complement the Chef is located at 53740 Route 25, Southold, 631-765-3261.

 5. Lori’s Originals

These harvest-inspired wine glasses, which Lori Ledek, owner of Lori’s Originals in Calverton, paints by hand, are adorable on their own but also make great favors for Thanksgiving dinner guests, she said.

“This is probably the most popular design I do for Thanksgiving,” she said. “It’s something unique. It just kind of dresses up the whole table instead of using a clear glass.”

The 10.5-ounce glasses are dishwasher-safe, though Ms. Ledek recommends hand-washing, and cost $7 each or $25 for a set of four. A matching fruit and cheese plate — one of Ms. Ledek’s bestselling products — is also available for $18.

Lori’s Originals is located at 4364 Middle Country Road, Calverton, 631-591-2844.
