In this week’s edition of “What’s for Lunch?” we recommend the BLAvocado sandwich from Six Three One restaurant in Southold.

The first thing you will notice after ordering this sandwich is that you might have to unhook your jaw to eat it. We found this entrée, featuring fresh, quality ingredients, was big enough to share.

For the sandwich, bacon, lettuce, heirloom tomatoes and avocado are served on toast with cole slaw, French fries and a pickle ($11).

While visiting a Long Island diner can sometimes lead to a meal of questionable quality, this eatery lives up to its reputation as the “finer diner.” The extensive menu featuring items with a Greek flare is sure to have something to please everyone in your party. It’s a great stop for those visiting the North Fork with little ones in tow. Another plus, the restaurant serves breakfast all day.

Six Three One is located at 62375 Main Road in Southold.

What’s for a lunch is a weekly northforker.com column highlighting delicious mid-day meals on the North Fork. Suggestions can be sent to [email protected].
