Rigatoni with fried eggplant at Touch of Venice in Cutchogue. (Credit: Vera Chinese)

In this week’s edition of “What’s for lunch?” we recommend rigatoni from Touch of Venice‘s lunch menu.

Fried egg plant, basil, asiago cheese is served over rigatoni with a chunky cherry tomato sauce ($15).

One mark of a good restaurant is the attention paid to the bread. Here, pieces of Tuscan bread are served with shredded asiago cheese, a pesto sauce with intact pieces of pine nuts and North Fork Sea Salt. It’s delightful.

I found the portion size to be perfect for lunch, which is served until 3 p.m. A complete lunch menu can be found here.

We suggest taking your meal on the outdoor patio, but wait until construction on Route 25 is finished.

Touch of Venice is located at 28350 Main Road in Cutchogue
