Take an educational boat cruise around Greenport Harbor then come ashore and learn how to shuck your own oysters with the Little Creek Oyster Farm & Market (and eat them, too, of course).
Captain Dave Berson leads the trips, dubbed the “Oys-Tour,” aboard the solar-charged electric launch vessel “Glory” and gives a lesson in Greenport’s oystering history. The tour ends with a stop at the Little Creek Oyster Farm & Market on Bootleg Alley in the village for a shucking lesson and tasting.
The weekly event will run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays from Aug. 1 through Sept. 5.
Tickets — which sell for $40 in advance or $50 if purchased up to two hours before the event — include the 45 minute boat tour, a bucket of oysters, a Little Creek shucking knife and a 15 percent discount on items for sale in the market.
