Want to prepare a farm-to-table meal using only produce, dairy and meat grown right here on the North Fork? Stop by the Riverhead Farmers Market for everything you need.

We visited the weekly market on Saturday to see what’s in season.

The Riverhead Farmers Market is located along the Peconic Riverfront and runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. every Saturday.

Peaches

Davis Peach Farm sells both red and yellow peaches from its orchard in Wading River ($6 for two quarts). Cherries, jams and sangria mix are available as well.

The farm is located at 561 Hulse Landing Road in Wading River.

Organic Beets

Invincible Summer Farms sells organic beets ($5 a bunch) and other produce grown at the Southold farm. Their crops, like carrots, rainbow Swiss chard and fava beans, are also available at the North Fork Table’s weekly farmers market on Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon.

The farm stand is located on Hortons Lane in Southold, between Main Road and Route 48.

Cow’s Milk

Goodale Farms sells fresh cow’s milk and cow and goat cheese along with produce grown on the Aquebogue farm. Visit their Facebook page or email [email protected] to sign up for weekly grocery specials.

Goodale Farms is located at 250 Main Road in Aquebogue.

Shiitake Mushrooms

The Cutchogue-based Long Island Mushroom is the biggest mushroom farm on Long Island. Get their mushrooms, like the shiitake pictured above ($10 a quart), at the weekly farmers market. Farmer John Quigley said the hydroponic facility can produce up to 3,000 pounds of ‘shrooms per week!

Eggs

Browder’s Birds sells their eggs ($9/dozen) at the weekly market as well as their chicken meat, honey, rubs and mayonnaise.

Cauliflower 

Wesnofske Farm is selling cauliflower grown on its Peconic farm for $2 a head.

Their beets, cucumbers, tomatoes, string beans and squash are also available at this time of the year.

Blue Potatoes

MarGene Farms in Mattituck offers a slew of unique organic crops like these blue potatoes ($3 per pound).

Certified organic, this farm also runs a small CSA.

They do not have their own farm stand, but find them at other local farmers markets, like the Mattituck East End Farmers Market.
