An open mic will be held at the Blue Duck Bakery Cafe in Riverhead tonight, Monday.

Poetry Street, a spoken word and poetry series in Riverhead, will hold its first open mic session from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 22 at the Blue Duck Bakery Cafe on East Main Street.
The first 15 poets and writers to sign up at the event will have three minutes to perform original poetry, stand-up routines or stories.
The open mic will feature local poet and advocate Robert “Bubbie” Brown, as well as other poets, community advocates and storytellers.
This event will commemorate “Juneteenth,” the day slavery was ended in the United States in 1865.
