Throw out yesterday’s egg salad sandwich, take a ride out to Southold and pull up a chair on the porch at Erik’s Breakfast & Lunch, which we feature in this week’s edition of What’s for Lunch.

The casual Route 48 eatery, known for its daily specials updated every morning on eriksinsouthold.info, serves an array of scrumptious meals like their pulled pork barbecue sandwich, chicken salad on raisin walnut bread and even their own coffee blend.

This week we recommend their veggie burger.

A spinach and sweet potato patty and Swiss cheese is presented on a brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, pickle and a slice of cantaloupe on the side. Served with sweet potato fries and dipping sauce ($10.95).

It will blow your socks off.

Erik’s Breakfast and Lunch is located at 43715 Route 48 in Southold.
