Friday marks the start of Year of Horse according to the Chinese calendar and there is no place better to celebrate on the North Fork than Greenport High School this Saturday.
Famed Chinese acrobat Li Liu is performing for free at Greenport High School Saturday afternoon to mark the occasion.
Ms. Liu was born in the city of Shenyang and began training at the age of six. She has since performed throughout the world and in the United States, including at the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus and The Late Show with David Letterman.
The Southold-based East End Education Enrichment Coalition is sponsoring the one-of-a-kind event. The group has been bringing cultural and informational events to the North Fork since 2004.
Ms. Liu is set to take the stage Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Greenport School Gymnasium. (Map it)
