Wanna participate in a winter farmers market? Now’s your chance.

A farmers market in a vacant storefront in downtown Riverhead got a green light out of town hall on Wednesday night to kick off an indoor winter farmers market starting a week from Saturday.

The Riverhead Farmers Market, which will open up shop in the former Swezey’s building, will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each week through May 17.

An application is now available through the town’s website (and available below). Chris Kempner, the town’s Community Development Association director, said the market could host 20 to 30 vendors — and she and Holly Browder, who helped bring the idea this far, have seen over 30 inquiries so far, Ms. Kempner said.

Vendors interested in participating will pay a fee of either $150 for the full 16 weeks, $100 for 10 weeks or $25 per week to participate.
