Believe it or not, Christmas is less than two weeks away. Between all the shopping and decorating, the thought of breaking out flour, sugar, pots and pans to bake goods for your celebration is probably the last thing on your mind. Fortunately, there are several local spots to get your holiday treats on the table without the hassle.

Blue Duck Bakery Cafe

While it specializes in artisan breads, its full service bakery is nothing short of delectable. Blue Duck offers variety of holiday and seasonal treats that are made fresh on premises daily. And if you’re looking for something extra special for your holiday celebration, the café offers customizable orders. Along with the three North Fork locations (Southold, Riverhead, Greenport), Blue Duck can also be found on the South Fork in Southampton.

Briermere Farms

4414 Sound Ave, Riverhead

When it comes to pie, Briermere Farms’ versions are as good, if not better, than homemade. During the holiday season, Briemere offers more than a dozen varieties of pie—traditional staples like apple, blueberry, cherry and raspberry as well as more unique blends such as blackberry apple, cherry cream and raspberry cream — all for under $22. All of the pies, bread, muffins, cookies, cakes, jam, and jelly are made from scratch. In fact, most of the fresh fruit used in the bakery is grown right on the farm. Briermere is taking orders for Christmas pies until Saturday, Dec. 21.

Ginger Goods

8955 Main Rd, East Marion

(631) 477-3277

While most 23-year-olds are still trying to figure of what they want to do with their lives, Southold native Jess Dunne is operating a successful, and delicious, baking operation — Ginger Goods. Ms. Dunne specializes creating her own recipes for artfully decorated cookies, cupcakes, scones and pies. Currently Ginger Goods is operating out of Fork & Anchor in East Marion, where all the baking is done onsite. Click here for a list of offerings. Christmas orders can be made over the phone.
