Halloween may not be until October 31, but don’t let that stop you from getting into the spirit early. The North Fork is ripe with creative costumes parties, dinners and more from Riverhead to Greenport this month.

Here is a guide to help you pick your party:

 

Saturday, October 19

 

Harvest Moon Paddle Adventure

Paddle Fitness Long Island is hosting two Halloween based fundraisers to benefit the Long Island Aquarium’s rescue center on October 19. The family-friendly Pumpkin Paddler is a pumpkin-carving contest followed by a paddle adventure along the Peconic River. Tickets are $50 for a pumpkin paddler, and $40 for those with their own paddleboards. The event will run from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Halloween costumes welcome.

For the adults there is also the Harvest Moon Paddle Adventure — a spooky adventure down the Peconic River after dusk guided by only the light of the full moon. There will be two rows for the event—one at 7p.m. to 8:15 p.m., the second from 8:30p.m. to 9:45 p.m. Tickets are $50 for a Harvest Moon Paddle, or $40 for those with their own paddleboards.

The fundraisers will be held at the Hyatt Place Long Island Treasure Cove Marina. Tickets can be purchased at pumpkinpaddle.eventbrite.com.

Fall Festival and Family Picture Day

Bach Grazina East End Orthodontics is hosting Fall Festival and Family Picture Day at Cheryl’s Farm Stand in Calverton. Each family will receive a free pumpkin that can be decorated during the festival. There will also be face painting and other fun family activities including potato sack races and family photos by Caroline Rocchetta. Admission is free.

Harbes Farm & Orchard Pumpkin Carving Contest

Harbes Farm & Orchard is hosting a pumpkin-carving contest from Oct. 22 through Oct. 31. The rules are simple: be creative and have fun. Carve whatever your heart desires and post a picture of your masterpiece on Harbes Farm & Orchard Facebook page. A panel of Harbes pumpkin experts will announce a winner every Thursday until Halloween!. Winners will receive two family packs to the Spooky Corn Maze located at Harbes Farm & Orchard.

Perhaps one of the most popular Halloween parties on the East End, Soundview Restaurant is back at it again this year. There are no tricks, just treats at this party. Think dancing, drinks and food. Attendees must be in costume. And why wouldn’t you want to? There are a ton of prizes for best dressed. The party is Saturday, Oct. 26 at 10 p.m. $10 cover at the door.

Halloween Spooktacular Celebration

Safari Adventure’s annual Halloween Spooktacular Celebration is Saturday, October 26 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Come dressed in your Halloween costume and enjoy a spooky scavenger hunt, glow in the dark bounce party and Halloween cake and milk. Regular priced admission includes glow sticks and Halloween treats. Adults must stay with children during the party and must RSVP to be included in the scavenger hunt.

Costume Requirements: No weapons, no make-up, nothing sharp, nothing that can hurt someone else or the damage the equipment. Management may ask that entire costumes or parts of a costume be removed before entering.

 

3rd Annual Halloween Spooktacular & Drive-In Movie

Riverhead Town is hosting its annual Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday, October 26 at Stotzky Park. This year’s event will feature Halloween favorites and much more.  Attendees are encouraged to don their best costumes. The highlight will be the drive-in movie, held in the main parking lot at Stotzky Park. This year’s film is Hotel Transylvania and will begin at 7:30 p.m. No registration is necessary and admission is free, but select activities may involve a small fee.

 

The Suffolk Theatre’s First Annual Halloween and Masquerade Party

The Suffolk Theatre is hosting its first annual Halloween and masquerade party on Saturday, October 26. The event will feature half price wine, beer, specialty cocktails and appetizers along with music, dancing, contests and giveaways. A la carte menu available throughout the evening. Doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Reservations are highly recommended.

This Halloween party is for the dogs… and cats. The North Fork Animal Welfare League is hosting All Howls’ Eve at A Lure on Wednesday, Oct. 30. While it’s a bit tamer than the other Halloween celebration, it certain does not skimp on the treats. For $95 guests will enjoy a three-course dinner and open bar. Seats are limited, so don’t be a ghost! On October 26, 27, 28 and 31 there will be tricks, treats, tentacles and more at the Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center. As a part of its annual Halloween celebration, wander among slithering sharks, eerie eels, and slimy snakes. The aquarium becomes alive with a fun zone, with mystery boxes, crafts, games, and an interactive story time. There is even a slime lab, filled with scientists and their spooky science exhibits. There will also be a Creepy Scavenger Hunt and face painting.
