The Riverhead Polish Town Civic Street Fair and Festival will be back in full polka for its 39th year when it officially kicks off this Saturday August 17 through Sunday August 18.

A slew of events are scheduled to take place as part of the happenings this weekend (August 17-18).

At 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the corner of Pulaski St. and Osborne Ave. there will be a memorial flag raising ceremony to start the festivities.

Following at noon there will be a reenactment of an old-fashioned Polish style wedding that will take place at St. Isidore’s Church.

Or if you prefer to enjoy some live music instead, the Mike Niemic Variety Band will be playing some tunes from 12-4 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday on Pulaski St.

The Polka Festival will headline this weekend’s events and starts at 3:30 p.m.

Admission for adults costs only $13 and the cost for children under 12 is $5. All other activities this weekend are free of charge.

DJ Hank is also scheduled to be appear this weekend in both the morning and afternoon, kids can enjoy the carnival on both days and there will also be several vendors and plenty of food.
